The Keepers of Peace are a paramilitary force that operates within the Corre Republic. Their purpose is to maintain peace when local authorities are not enough. This can range from riots to full blown uprisings. The average citizen across the Republic will have different views of the KoPs. Some see them as the guardians keeping the nation from crossing the thin line into mass chaos, while others see them as oppressors that use tools of war to maintain peace. Some worlds such as the citizenry of Bronze or Draft see the KoPs incredibly favorably.
While the Republic Armed Forces are not permitted to fire upon Republic civilians the Keepers are given more latitude to bring order back to the streets of the worlds in their realm. They often will work in conjunction with the Bureau of Central Intelligence’s inquisitors on an as needed basis to act as an extension of the BCI. KoP leadership has built relationships with weapon manufacturers such as Daloes Arms to provide them with alternate loadouts for machines such as the Sierra and Spade to meet the needs of repelling rioters. Tools such as bean bag launchers, tear gas canisters, signal jammers, and more are at their disposal.
Ground forces in the KoPs ranks can range from non-lethal to severely deadly. Due to retirement or surplus of a wide range of RAF units from its various campaigns’ trickles downward to the KoPs. This gives them access to WarMechs, armored vehicles, drones, and an arsenal of other weaponry. While it is certainly preferred not to need such tools of destruction when interacting with the public it has been proven again and again that there are groups who are extremely dangerous and that they cannot be reasoned with. Over the span of the KoPs existence, they have gone up against a long list of militias, pirate bands, crime syndicates, rebels, rioters, mercenaries, assassins, and more. Such moments are when the KoPs full catalog of instruments is beneficial.
Current campaigns across the Republic are engaged with a dangerous militia on Thanksgiving and joint operations with the RAF on retaking Destiny from the Five Skulls. They are squelching riots and rebellions on Factorum, Delieeve, and Zephyr. The senate has just agreed to up their funding to assist with bolstering their ranks and their hardware for the ever increasing number of resistance and violence spreading about the nation’s worlds.
Color Scheme
Keepers of Peace forces are often easily identifiable by their white appearance. Some will also incorporate blues onto a few panels, but the predominant color pattern is white.
Keepers of Peace playstyle in Revelations: Skirmish
Since the Keepers of Peace utilize a variety Corre Republic tech for their forces, the stats of their units sometimes is also similar. However, the KoP units do have unique loadouts and their own way of approaching conflict. While the Republic Armed Forces is used to having an extensive drone and communications network to coordinate their forces, the KoP leadership adopts portions of that capability.
Most of their units are more of a middle of the road in terms of stats and strengths. Due to their need to be deployed often to quench protests from becoming violent riots their units often are equipped with non-lethal anti-personnel gear. They have access to a fatal arsenal that can be loaded into their weaponry if they find themselves facing pirates or mercenaries.
The other bigger change for them is that they will ordinarily deploy smaller size forces such as Vigils, Mercurys, and Sierras instead of things like Enforcers or Arbalests. They will have access to such models, but that is not their standard deployment.
