Wild Foxes
Overview of the Wild Foxes
"Governor, you already have so much, I'll just borrow some of it to give to the needy."
Lore
The Foxes are a newer band of pirates. Most do not know of them, and those that do don’t really see them as a threat. That is, if you aren’t Governor Atricus of Gall. He claims that the Foxes have repeatedly attacked his various properties. Little evidence has been able to be provided which frustrated the Governor even more. He enlisted the service of multiple mercenary groups as his own personal forces and they have never been able to confirm the existence of the Wild Foxes.
Naomi Trygara grew up in the slums of Callidar. Cycle after cycle she watched the offworld tourists flash their money around, living as though they were someone special. As a young girl Naomi became street smart. She learned how to pickpocket and a variety of other skills that allowed her to continue to survive. Life was hard but Naomi was tough. Eventually she had an opportunity to leave Callidar aboard a commerce vessel by the captain’s invitation. The teenaged Naomi was thrilled to escape the streets but was devastated when she realized the captain had other intentions. Long ago she had decided that she was not a victim and would take charge of herself no matter what. When the captain tried to use his authority to force himself on his passenger, Naomi took it upon herself to rid the ‘verse of his filth.
The new captain, Hi-yon Tannis, a man who had no love for the previous one, protected Naomi from any fallout with the crew. He provided the teen with the opportunity to work on the ship and learn the ropes of morally grey space trading. Naomi agreed and learned all that she could in as many roles as she was able to, even up to learning how to pilot the modified Sierra that the vessel housed. If the crew had a home outside of their ship it was in a small trading town on Ko’Bac called Bind. The Five Skulls ruled in the shadows and cared little for the people of that world. Naomi would often bring what food and clothing she could for the orphans that lived on the streets. Her reputation locally grew, and she was respected by many of the locals.
For cycles she continued to travel through the stars trading all manner of things including a few smuggling runs. They ended up being hired to deliver a unique sculpture to the governor of Gall. After the crew had finished unloading the piece they were informed that they were not going to be paid. Captain Hi-yon stepped up and after an altercation he was shot by the security team. After the crew grieved the death of their captain, Naomi was selected to be their new leader. Her first act was to launch a mission to steal from their last client, the Governor. They were wildly more successful than they ever thought they would be, scoring millions in goods that they were able to offload.
Arriving back on Ko’Bac Naomi helped set up a home for many of the orphans in Bind and bought food for a number of other families. She became enraptured by the possibility of what would happen if she had more funds at her disposal. It wasn’t long before her mind drifted to pirating and other forms of thievery. With so many cycles of witnessing how most worlds were relaxed with traders that she saw an opening to grab hold of some major paydays. Naomi decided that they would trade here and there to help keep up appearances, but that she was going to begin pirating from the wealthy. Her crew agreed to the plan and the Wild Foxes was then born.
What makes the Wild Foxes potentially dangerous is that they are hard to predict. Their tactics of raiding change so frequently that they don’t really seem to have a pattern for them. This makes them excellent at pivoting on the fly, but they are not as skilled at deploying a plan as other groups are. Their flexibility has likely been the single greatest element that has prevented them from being caught or destroyed. Overall though they have not been identified as a major threat, so they are largely ignored. Naomi pays her dues to the local Five Skulls and is permitted to do what she wants as long as she does not get involved in any of their business dealings across the stars.

Wild Foxes playstyle in Revelations: Skirmish
The Wild Foxes make do with what they can get their hands on. Most of their units carry the Patchwork keyword as their generic counterparts, but since they are used to being creative on the battlefield they have more Focus.
